Avaya has enhanced its portfolio to deliver unified wired and wireless network access to employees, guests and their personal devices while maintaining enterprise security. The changes were announced at Interop 2012 just held in Las Vegas.
The enhancements to Avaya Identity Engines 8.0 are part of Avaya Mobile Collaboration for Enterprise and include two new capabilities designed to help eliminate the security risks of personal devices on a corporate network. The first feature, "Ignition Access Portal," simplifies "bring your own device" (BYOD) connectivity with auto-registration and device fingerprinting capabilities, thus providing visibility into the type and profile of devices on the network and allowing them to act accordingly. The access portal can be customized and deployed across geographical locations based on the unique business needs.
